The cliff rises to approximately 300 metres above sea level, one of the highest points in Barbados, and the view from the edge is wide and dramatic: the Scotland District valleys spread out below, the Atlantic coast is visible in the distance, and the topography of the island's interior becomes clear in a single sweeping panorama.

The cliff is named after a planter whose estate occupied this area in the early colonial period. The road along the clifftop passes through farmland and secondary woodland.
