Foul Bay is on the south-east coast of Barbados in St. Philip, a wide crescent of pale sand backed by casuarina trees facing the Atlantic Ocean. The name is old and predates the beach's current peaceful character; it likely referred to foul (dangerous) sailing conditions off the exposed point. Today it is a genuinely remote and beautiful beach, one of the widest on the Atlantic coast, and almost always uncrowded.

The Atlantic surf here is energetic but the bay shape provides some protection compared to fully exposed headlands. The beach has a natural, undeveloped character with no commercial facilities.
