The central feature of the park is the ruin of Farley Hill Great House, an imposing 19th century mansion that was one of the grandest plantation houses in Barbados before it burned down in 1965. Its coral limestone shell, with arched windows and collapsed floors open to the sky, remains standing and can be walked through.
The wider park is planted with mahogany trees, casuarina, and towering royal palms. Walking paths run through the tree cover to viewpoints that look across the Scotland District valleys toward the Atlantic coast. The view on a clear day is one of the finest in Barbados.
