Brownes Beach runs along Carlisle Bay in St. Michael, just south of Bridgetown on the sheltered south-west coast. The sand is soft and white and the water is calm and clear, protected inside the bay. Shipwrecks lie offshore in the bay, and the area is a regular stop for snorkelling and turtle-spotting trips.
